Graduation!

Michael walked for graduation Saturday December 12th, 2009. 2nd child to graduate with a BA. Of course he went to state and I went to WMU. My first choice was MSU, but I guess I was not good enough for them. Oh well, maybe if I go back for a masters I can get it. He graduate from the college of engineering in computer science. Now the real tough part is finding a job in this economy for him.

Good luck Michael and Congratulations!!

So Dad looks a little worried in this one...LOL, not sure what the problem is!

India....Here He Comes!

Daniel left for India Nov. 12th, 2009. Mom & Dad were stressed out waiting for the call that he got there safe. Of course he did not call when mom thought he would so her nerves were shot while she imagined what had happened to him. Then he finally called the next day in the evening to say he was there safe with Mia. He will be there for 1 month and from what I understand part of that time he is doing volunteer work in the woods. Don't remember what for, but I will be sure to update when I find out.

U of M vs. WMU

Going to the game we had hope. We thought after talking with my uncle who is a sports broadcaster there was hope for the Broncos to pull out a win. So there my father and I were walking through downtown Ann Arbor with our WMU Broncos tee shirts on. We walked by students in the front yard of houses binge drinking and passed a few other Bronco fans who were never hesitant in shouting praise and hopeful remarks to us.

Unfortunately whoever had watched the game knows how sad and pitiful it really was. It was disheartening and depressing. Not sure what happened to us...I guess this means back to the drawing board....

Michigan Weather

This is a kind of late post, but last week Michigan had pretty nice storm roll through. It was sunny in the 80s, not a cloud. Then out of no where the wind picked up and rain started falling. It was hard to drive through because the ran was be thrown around by the wind really hard. I was on my way to work when it happened. I got to work and for those who don't know I take 911 calls. All of our 911 lines were lit up like a Christmas tree. There were trees down all over the county along with million down wires and of course tons of people without power. Worst of all my friend that was working at fire radio (who tones out the fire departments for medicals or fires) had 80 runs they had toned out that day. And just to a little insight, in the 20s in considered busy for fire.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL

Daniel Birthday was March 16th and of course I was at work so no pictures got taken. As far as I know they just had cake. Daniel preference was a simple yellow cake with vanilla frosting. But he is now the big 2-1 and today he got his new driver's license in the mail and his comment was "Now I am like everyone else with a crappy license pictures." Way to ring in the birthday Daniel! He is our little bro. Right now he is living in San Francisco going to the Academy of Art University. I swear anything he touches looks great!! He is trying to go to school in Italy so we will see!!

(Daniel is the cowboy)
Didn't have any pictures from his actual birthday this year so I thought an old one might be fun.

You try making your bed...

Every time I try to make it this happens....the best part is as I was taking off the comforter he watched and as soon as it hit the floor he walked right over and laid right down..."Just make yourself at home Phoenix...." I think he thinks it's his comforter...

"What, you mean this isn't mine?"

Aggression in Dogs

WTF....

Just found out a girlfriend of mine had to put down her doberman due to aggression issues as well. Her dog Roxy was fine for a few years and then all of the sudden recently started being very aggressive with the family. She finally attacked my girlfriend and only stopped when the lights in the room where it was taking place were turned on...then she was back to being "momma's girl."

I just couldn't believe it. It sounded just like my baby Drew. He was showing signs of aggression but got really back in a week span. He growled at my mom when she walked by him at first, then a few days later attacked me because I wouldn't let him full on attack my neighbor and then he tried to attack my mom.

Could Ceaser fix these dogs I wonder or was it a brain problem? We will never know but after putting them to sleep I still wonder if Drew could've been helped. According to Ceaser he can fix any dog which leaves me and my family with an awful sense of letting him down....I got him from a shelter to save him not to kill him....

On a happy note: My mother has a friend needing to rehome 2 labs (together) only thing I know is that one is black and one is brown. Also my aunt possibly wants to rehome their 1year old male golden retreiver....let me know if you got anything!

Breckenridge Continued....

Alright, here are some more pics but since the blog pictures won't upload in the order I want them to I'm just going to have a new post.
Aaron is way better on the board than I am. Evidence is in the pictures, notice I am not attempting anything you may consider to be a trick or difficult...But according to him "he knew what he was getting into" when we booked the trip. And by the way that last pic of him and the previous post he wanted me to tell you it's him jibbing a box....Anyways enjoy the new pics!!

Our first night out was at Downstairs Eric's

Aaron @ the little downtown coffee/bakery we found. They had the BEST spiced cider!

Our first day snow was pouring on us...in the pic above that was what accumulated on us while riding up the chair lift

2nd day was all clear skies. and yes we wore sunscreen.

We ate lunch at a restaurant that was on the mountain. Although neither of us had much of an appetite.

Bye Bye Breck. Hopfeully we'll be back. We both loved the little town and of course the ski resort itself!
I <3 Breck

Breckenridge, CO

And our trip begins....

Well Aaron & I are back against our will. We both would've been good with moving to Breckenridge. The peaks were great and so was the town. People were so nice it was a good change for once. We snowboarded for 3 days. The last day was only 3 hours though.
The first day we snowboarded was all fresh powder. The 2nd day was sunny and so was the last day. Aaron said I was spoiled for this to be my first trip with a hotel 500 yards away from the hill and perfect weather. Our hotel was the Great Divide Lodge. It was nice and close to the hill...although we never took advantage of the hot tub....oh well next time I guess.
